Coaching & Team Leadership

Gravitated towards team leadership from an early age and developed a strong foundation through experiences with youth sports and summer camp.

Continued the trajectory with active club and community roles in high school and college which fed an insatiable interest in psychology and communication. Consistently earned leadership opportunities and increasing responsibility in a career that spans differences in scale, geography, culture, and industry. Considered an expert in human behavior and known for coaching expertise and wisdom surrounding team dynamics.

Design

Working at IDEO was like getting an advanced degree in human-centered design. Design ensures that form follows function, becoming viable, feasible, and desirable as an integrated whole.

My best design insights come from nature. Biomimicry of streams, flocks, hives, and molecules taps into 4 billion years of natural evolution in complex systems.

Build

My first building experience was on actual buildings. I apprenticed to a master carpenter who set the highest quality bar I've ever known.

From custom homes to adventure learning experiences to high-performing organizations, the materials have changed, but my orientation has not.

Serve

I was raised to participate in my community as a civic responsibility. I spent the first decade of my career working with under-resourced kids, teachers, and schools to improve educational outcomes.

I moved to the private sector to harness business growth as a force for community betterment. We all do better when we give back to the world around us.
